Source 1: “January 2018 Dato’ Siew Ka Wei, the Chairman of Ancom Bhd, MD of Redberry Media Group that owned Malay Mail and former Chairman of Tourism Malaysia, and Ms Elizabeth Ken, the Media Specialist of Redberry Media Group, were both arrested and detained for 4 days (The remand order until Jan 12 for Siew and the private company CEO was issued by Magistrate Irza Zulaikha Rohanuddin in the Putrajaya Court yesterday, following an application by the MACC, which had questioned the duo in Putrajaya on Tuesday (Jan 8)) because of the scandalous “Speedy Gonzales” Geeko Tech (Geeko was only 5 months old company, 6th Nov 2017) deal worth RM99.67 million with Tourism Malaysia. According to the documents, the Speedy Gonzales deal was struck within one day - evaluation, negotiation, preparation and signing of the agreement were done on 4 April 2018, a month before 2018 14th GE. More than two years have elapsed still no charges were preferred. (June 2, Siew issued a statement denying any wrongdoing and pointed out that proper procedures were followed, several MACC officers had conducted an “inquiry” at the agency’s office in Putrajaya on June 6). Oct 30 2020: Siew Ka Wei sells Ancom shares on open market. disposed of 620,000 shares on the open market for RM475,539, a filing with Bursa Malaysia showed. After the share sales, he is left with 27.63 million shares or a 11.538% direct equity stake in the diversified group. Meanwhile, his indirect interest in the company stood at 9.351% as at today.
